although i totally agree with the last half of that, i'm curious what the definition of "post rave genres" is. do you just mean any genre that has sprung up since rave's heyday, or genres that are direct descendants of rave? d. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

i think the same issue exists with all the other microgenres (clicks'n'cuts, minimal tech- house, folktronica). everyone gets so fixated on their navels, musically speaking. there is definitely good stuff under all names but people get too caught up in creating new names to call music only slightly different from something that already exists. i don't hear much in the way of genres formed or perpetuated by rave, but i guess that exists on the itunes "electronica" stations and in big clubs (i assume it's what they play on weekends at wesbster hall in nyc). personally i am happily listening to several of the tresor CDs i ordered. right now cristian vogel, but also tobias schmidt and the headquarters berlin comp. plus i just found my previously missing plastikman CD of 'consumed'. just noticed how similar the artwork of that is to NIN's "broken" and "fixed". anyway, looking for more plastikman similar to that album, any suggestions? d. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
