I'm trying to figure out which of Isolee's We Are Monsters and Boy Robot's Rotten Cocktails (or something else, to add to my dilemma) to include in my weekly Boomkat spree. Opinions? David -- "And then what do they do?" "Er, quadratic equations mostly, sir. Fiendishly difficult ones by all accounts." If you want a rough sub-genre-based assist, I'd say overall the Isolee seems more premised on minimal tech-house (though admittedly an off-kilter 'take' on it) with electro undertones and the dancefloor in view, whereas the Boy Robot is nearer to 'IDM' As We Know It. alan --On 02 December 2005 15:47 +0000 David Sim <pmxds@nottingham.ac.uk> wrote:

Definitely Boy Robot. Much more coherent than the other album IMHO. -- Kurt Bernhard Pruenner --- Haendelstrasse 17 --- 4020 Linz --- Austria .......It might be written "Mindfuck", but it''s spelt "L-A-I-N"....... np: Andrew Thomas - Fearsome Jewel 9 (Fearsome Jewel) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Right, based on this comprehensive survey (and the fact that I was leaning that way anyway), I've gone with Boy Robot. I'll probably get the Isolee at some point anyway. It's all been going a bit post-grime-core round my way lately, so it'll be nice to hear a bit of a tune again.
