Sunday April 11 Farewell to Undercity BBQ Halcyon   4pm-1am 227 Smith Street Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn (F, G trains to Bergen Street) www.halcyonline.com (718)260-9299 all ages, $5 (free if you bring enough food to share) A potluck BBQ to say farewell to one of the longest running experimental electronic music events in NYC history. Details: Music - The Undercity resinauts will be joined by some excellent, world class, live electronic acts. The music will be what you'd expect from an Undercity party: ambient, downtempo, dub, minimal techno, dancehall, electro, spacey breaks, eclectic exerimental absurdities, and indescribable audio treats (all mixed together to form something we like to call "esoteric audio goo"). 4:00pm - Clark ov Saturn (Undercity, Socks and Sandals | NYC) 5:00pm - Normal Music (Zeromoon) live pa 5:30pm - Sean Smith (Socks and Sandals | NYC) 6:30pm - Steve Stoll (Mute | NYC) live pa 7:30pm - Sheldon Drake (Undercity | NYC) 8:30pm - Andreas Tilliander (Mille Plateaux | Sweden) live pa 9:15pm - DJ Spinoza (the Bunker, the Agriculture, Undercity | NYC) 10:15pm - Christopher Willits (12k, Sub Rosa, Ghostly | SF) live pa 11:00pm - Mercy Killah (D.U.B, Undercity | NYC) Andreas Tilliander is an electronic musician most well known for being an early innovator in the "click-hop" movement. He has released music on the famous Mille Plateaux label under his own name and as Mokira. Hardly a musician to be definied by one genre, Tilliander has produced a mind-boggling amount of music on many labels under countless aliases. More info at www.repeatle.com Steve Stoll is a legendary techno producer with releases on Mute, Probe, DJax, Delirium, Synewave and his own Proper NYC label. Tonight, Steve will be playing a special dubby ambient laptop set (this is the first time he will play this material in NYC). Christopher Willits is a musician, multimedia artist and sound engineer located in San Francisco. His musical focus is characterized by guitar and computer software processing and improvisation that generates a unique surface of melody and rhythm. More info at www.christopherwillits.com Visuals - Phil Davidson and Chris Jordan will be providing visual magic. Food - rain or shine, we are having a potluck BBQ on the back patio from 4pm until the food runs out.  if you bring enough food to share, you get in for free. bring a large serving of your favorite summer BBQ food, or something to throw on the grill (please do not show up with a bag of potato chips or something lame like that and expect to get in free).  homemade food encouraged!  please come early and hang out all day.  we will be providing burgers and dogs while they last. there is a supermarket on Smith Street between the subway stop and Halcyon where you can stock up on grillables until 8pm. Alcohol - halcyon will have several kegs of beer.  $3 per pint. you cannot bring your own alcohol, sorry. Soundsystem - Halcyon has one of the best soundsystems in NYC.  they are moving out of their current location the week after this party, so we are going all out and turning the soundsystem way up ... you will feel the bass resonate in your chest cavity. all of the furniture is being moved out of Halcyon to make room for a dancefloor. this is the last party at Halcyon, so we're not too worried about upsetting the neighbors. History - Undercity has been happening every Sunday at Halcyon for over 4 years. We started in January of 2000, just a few months after Halcyon opened it's doors at 227 Smith Street. We have hosted over 200 guest DJs and live acts, most of which are listed at http://www.sheldondrake.com/Undercity.html. Halcyon is temporarily shutting it's doors while they search for a new location, Sheldon Drake has relocated to Baltimore, Mercy Killah is moving to Japan, and Clark ov Saturn and Spinoza are busy with other projects, so the time is right to end Undercity on a good note. Of course, once Halcyon re-opens (hopefully in 2005), we may be back in one form or another. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Many thanks to Bryan for hosting me @ Undercity twice. Looking forward to seeing the new Halcyon. As someone who has promoted events, I know how hard Bryan has worked over the years to make Undercity a great weekly event. If you're in NYC and you don't go to this yer a fool.
