CARPARK
The Greg Davis (Group)/Marumari tour begins this weekend! Greg and company
are touring in support of his grand new record "Curling Pond Woods"
(
http://www.carparkrecords.com/greg_d_j_curling_p.html for more info).
Please visit the bottom of this email for all the dates. This is the first
time Greg's new group has played outside Chicago so should be a treat for
all. Come and say hello!
Greg Davis is heading to Europe for the later half of April and Early May.
We should have more info on the website imminently...
Later in 2004 look for new releases from Signer and Casino Versus Japan.
Bevan Smith (aka Signer) is back in his homeland of New Zealand making
tunes. He has composed much of the music for the new British film
"Touching the Void" which has won the 2004 BAFTA award for best British
film. Pure rumor at this point, but there may be a Casino Versus
Japan/Signer North American tour this fall.
ACUTE
The Metal Boys "Tokio Airport" reissue will be in shops next week and is
now available on our online shop. Check out
http://www.carparkrecords.com/metalboys_tokio.html for more info on this
Metal Urbain offshoot. Another Metal Urbain project Dr Mix and the Remix
will see the "Wall of Noise" reissue treatment this June. This one
features noisy covers of Elvis, The Velvet Underground, David Bowie, Roxy
Music and more.
Metal Urbain have invaded America! They are currently in Austin for South
by Southwest and will then head to the West and East Coasts. Dates are below.
Acute will reissue Glenn Branca's first solo record "Lesson No.1" this May.
In addition to this being Glenn's first solo record, "Lesson No.1" was
also the first release on the legendary New York label 99 records. We've
added an extra composition "Bad Smells" (originally made for the Twyla
Tharp Dance Company), a live video of "Symphony #5" from 1984, and liner
notes by New York luminary Alan Licht.
PAW-TRACKS
The Animal Collective are currently holed up in Maryland working on new
material. They'll hopefully be playing the new stuff at their east coast
shows next week. Next month they're off to Europe for a month to tour with
Mum. Dates, again, are below.
The Panda Bear "Young Prayer" record should come out in September. A
Paw-Tracks Compilation is planned for later this year. Tentative future
releases include an Animal Collective rarities collection, a record by
Animal friend Ariel Pink, and a 12" by Jane (featuring Panda Bear).
We have brand new Animal Collective t-shirts at the paw-tracks.com online
shop so check em out. A new paw-tracks website is coming very soon...we
promise.
