i just picked up this 12" release by flashbulb on suburban trash, and i must say its excellent. i don't remember any discussion of it, but its been out a bit for sure. i may have missed it. awesome fun, melodic drill'n'bass that recalls chris clark, in that squarepusher, muziq, aphex realm, but most like the chris clark imo. check it out if that's your bag. - cutups

doesn't sound even vaugely similar, I guess the lead synth line sounds similar to the lead lines from O'Brien, Whooshki, or Theme From Ernest Borgnine - but that's ok, I say he doesn't write enough shit that sounds like this.
quoted 1 line 50 cycle = f-train> 50 cycle = f-train
yes, but a much better version of f-train. the way the beat and bassline arise out of the chaos towards the end sounds great. and you can't really make out all the post-modernist sounding bullshit he's waffling on about for most of the song, which another improvement.
quoted 1 line iambic 9 poetry = iambic 5 poetry (well duh)> iambic 9 poetry = iambic 5 poetry (well duh)
again no, iambic 9 has much less going on and it's basically just the same progression played with two different rhythms whereas iambic 5 has a decent song structure going on. iambic 5 poetry is a much better track though.
quoted 1 line andrei = disgusting baroque jazz fusion bass solo> andrei = disgusting baroque jazz fusion bass solo
i like baroque and fusion though, so i guess that's a good thing.
quoted 1 line menelec = anstromm feck-4> menelec = anstromm feck-4
yeah, coz they both have the same crazy prince of persia bass line and they even use the same break... oh wait...
quoted 1 line c town smash = wanky bass solo> c town smash = wanky bass solo
doesnt sound great at the start, but he really gets into it after about 30seconds, that's some pretty impressive bass playing.
quoted 1 line circlewave = wanky drum solo / my sound> circlewave = wanky drum solo / my sound
yeah, i guess they do sound similar; but it doesn't really bother me much - it's a nice track.
quoted 1 line every day i love = nightmare acoustic number> every day i love = nightmare acoustic number
the first few times I listened to this I was in agreement with you, reminded of Sting or some bullshit, but it's strarting to grow on me. you left out the two best tracks on the album though... steinbolt - weird metal jungle insanity tetrasync - another great lead synth line, great cut up rhtyhms, great bass playing... it's definatley his best album since Music Is Rotted... ...skism --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Yes there is theres.. 3 i think (The Cock & Nag Nag Nag @ The Ghetto, Marvellous @ Substation and I'm sure theres one on a Friday at The EGG - which is where Squarepusher played alongside Jonny Slut) , and saying your over electroclash? isnt that like saying your over pop music.. electroclash is a genre. not a fad. and i guess you meant you yanks were over the hype rather than the music? no? As there is some really good artists (Adult, DMX Crew, Waldorf, Atomizer) which I would put in the electroclash genre (as it easyier to explain, i guess) And i did here that, he could be a swinger - off a very good source.. but anyway - I still think his music is pioneering and rocks so much it hurts! Ug! ug!
