No that is NOT OK.
If a piece of equipment is earthed, it is earthed for a reason. That
being, it gives the current somewhere to go if the chassis should go
live. If it has nowhere to go, it will take the first path that comes
along. That first path is often a musician who thinks it's ok to
disconnect his earth.

You could spend $100 on an Ebtech hum eliminator. Or, you could just
use 3 prong to 2 prong adapters with the ground pin unattached. As long
as you don't take a bath in a steel tub full of salt water while you're
using your laptop you'll be just fine.
I got mad a few weeks back when my laptop/Hammerfall DSP started making
nasty noises because my wife swiped the 3 prong adapter, and I snapped
the ground pin off the power supply cord. This is an even eviller
suggestion,
but the ground pins break right off if you wiggle them vigorously.
