Just got around to spinning this nice little gem recently released on the trustworthy Thule label. It throws a few interesting curves to listener who wishes to slot it into an easy category. At times it comes across like an indie record with some electronic touches (very much like the spate of German records which do so) - only it shifts gears if you wait a track or two. The cover of Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" is surprisingly good - female vox and emotionally distant/disaffected, yet warm in total effect - well updated. At times this record comes across like a very good "quiet" and layered IDM slice with some very good ambientish atmospheric feeling. Overall the record has a somewhat melancholy feel to it, which serves it well. It's just not easy to peg - in my book, a good thing. jeff --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
