Complain BEFORE the cops come and before you do something illegal. doofus :P get the laws changed, and make a statement before stupid laws get enacted. Don't sit idly by while laws get made and then bitch when you don't like them.-- Zach replies: I think it is perfectly all right to complain both before and after the cops come. Just because a law is enacted doesn't make it moral or rational. Just because you made a statement doesn't mean you have the power to prevent a stupid law from being enacted. What can do after a stupid irrational law is enacted? You discontinue your behavior because the risk isn't worth the reward. You can continue your behavior and try your best to find legal loopholes, or not get caught. You can openly rebel against the law be continuing the behavior and accepting the consequences trying to show the public that the punishment doesn't suit the crime....or that crime isn't a crime. I don't have a problem with laws. All I ask is for laws to be both rational and consistent. This is something that history has shown me is very unlikely to happen. I don't have the strength of will to serve prison time for a irrational law in order to prove a point. So I will continue to do what I do while avoiding the law. There is always canada :) zach _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8. I suppose there's also a level of tact necessary for a successful revolt or to successfully get a law changed. You don't go to speak to your local/regional political representative stoned off your ass and hope to change his mind. Heck, you probably lie about any past use and say that this is your understanding of the situation as a non-user. heck, that's why I continue to support drug legalization and the subsequent taxation and regulation of it. I have no interest in doing the drugs, but people should have a right to do as they wish while getting educated about what it is they're doing. And they shouldn't be forced to give money to drug cartels that thrive on violence. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Zach replies: I hold that it doesn't matter weather your stoned off your ass or not. That that variable is completely irrelevant. I hold that only two variable matters when it comes to politics. One variable being how big your wallet is, the other being how many people shoulders you are standing on. Money is the more powerfull of the two. To get the laws changed you will have to out bid any conservative interest that have something to gain from keeping these laws as they are. This includes drug cartels, legal drug monopolies, anti-revoltionary government/buissness interest, and probaly many others that my limited intelligence can't think of. I think it is all good to try to change these things, but for the most part i feel it is a waste of time. Of course, I could just be jaded and tired. At this point in my life it is easier to circumnavigate the law. zach _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 helps eliminate e-mail viruses.
