hey. just heard some of 'the books' - food for thought, which i thought was incredibly original. it allows all the carefully sequenced samples sound natural and not overly-prepared. a lot of idm fails here i feel. i've read some basic reviews and figured out they're on tomlab records in germany and the group composition and such. was wondering if anyone out there knows more about this group, if they've recorded anything else together or music that you'd reccomend in the same vein. Also, has anybody heard/reccomend tracks recorded under the name 'zammuto'? (half of 'the books') thanks. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Zammuto's Wilscher cd is a masterpiece I think. Its on Apartment B records, and its not to hard to find, try bentcrayon.com, not forced exposure cuz I think they fucking suck cuz I still don't have my Food for Thought. Zammuto also released Solitaire de Stareau(SP?), which I think of quite a bit lesser quality. On Tue, 31 Dec 2002 theodore.kaye@yale.edu wrote:

Solutiore of Stareau was actually a 3 disc release back in 99 or so. He only released it as a cottage industry, to friends and acquaintances, and the occasional person who asked for a copy. It included disc 2 (which was released on Apt. B and renamed as "Wilscher") and the 1st disk (released within the last year on Riouxs records as "Solutiore of Stareau disk 1"). They're all different, of course, with the first being much more ambient/dubby and more of my liking than the next two disks, but all really interesting and refreshing. He also has a track on Greg Davis' Autumn Records label compilation "Autumnature," titled "feedbag," which is a very accessible track that still features his "found sound" and quick, poppy editing style in it. derek ------- eggytoast.com ------- coming soon: eggtastic.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
