I would like to add to Kent's review that I think Numbers seriously ROCK.
They're really great live, and although you could compare them to all kinds
of folks I would say they definitely have their own power source!!
The second Numbers show I saw:
I told a few always-skeptical friends that of all the bands that night, that
Numbers would put on probably the loudest, craziest set out of everyone that
night, and that they were really really fun. They were all, "Yeah, that's
cool, alright lets stay for them ... Should be good ... hum"
Then I said, "OK maybe not, they are not going to be that good, I was just
high or something the first night I saw them, or whatever, don't get your
hopes up, I think they are good, I just don't know."
Their setup was a wait (at least for me, the guy saying Numbers was cool)
but - right when they started up, first song, the whole room started
jumping, pogoing, bumping, etc, fairly violently, but in a very fun way -
there was a negative aspect (from the drunkest in the room), but I would say
even though people were being pushed around - they were smiling (yes even
the ladies - very good) - so - some people were definitely a bit out of
control, but for the most part they threw everyone for a loop and just went
off.
I don't know these guys but I love 'em. Super fun.
Go see 'em if you get a chance.
Word to the wise: Watch the drummer. She rules the band, and she's really,
REALLY dope.
