hello some upcoming things in the world of Marcia Blaine firstly, our eponymous EP on Dalriada has just been re-released, after selling out the first 500 copies. A further 300 are coming out, this time with nice stickers designed by me (two different varieties to collect). Also on Dalriada is number 3, Hannah's Barber's "Hanna's Yard" which is strange cutup beats and dub. Next, our contribution to Stuff Records first compilation EP is out on Monday. Our track, "Pine Trees Make Golden Rules", is a tribute to American R&B and is great. more info from www.stuffrecords.co.uk. Also on that site is a dj set by DJ Thevillageorchestra (um, thats me too) of dubby techno and microhouse, which is at www.stuffrecords.co.uk/audiobank/thevillageorchestrapartone.mp3 Also....We're djing at the Glasgow Art School on Friday, supporting Gold Chains and Kit Clayton. Sadly we're playing early (11pm) so get there sharp. This will be an unveiling of the first direction for the School Disco Volume 2. Forthcoming is a 7" on Static Caravan, "Pink Sticks/We". This'll be out in January. Also our second EP on Dalriada, the "Dens and Gods EP", is being finalised at the moment, and should be out relatively soon in the new year. I released 2 albums on Bandcamp Friday this month. The first was released by Component Recordings: https://componentrecordings.bandcamp.com/album/chaircrusher-music-for-upholstery The second I self-released: https://chaircrusher.bandcamp.com/album/daddy-or-chips The Component album has been in the works a couple of months. The self-released one came about partly to get in on the Bandcamp Friday release schedule, and partly because releasing 2 albums in one day is a stunt. Both albums are me on my bullshit. Mostly ambient, occasionally beats, based around a lot of distressed field recordings and shortwave radio sampling.
