Tortoise in chapel Hill right after the released the 100's living remix cd. They toured with Oval, and they all switched inst. after every couple of songs. Lot's of cool computer processing too. not to mention two vibraphones and live visuals. I say Nitzer Ebb on the "Belief" tour - 1989, I think? It was pretty intense - three guys on a nearly bare stage dressed in white t-shirts, black shorts and big stompy combat boots, two of them pounding on electric percussion sets while the one in the middle sang/shouted. "Murderous" live nearly ripped my head off. I saw them a couple of years later on the "Ebbhead" tour, and they sucked ass.
