my 2 cents on kettel: having heard a whole lot of his music, i have to say that he is one of the better unsigned artists around. his sound has been continually evolving and improving over the 2 years that ive heard his music. i believe he has a full length record coming out on kracfive soon. its more in the hip-hop vein. not my favorite kettel stuff by far but still pretty good. as for the kettel vs. marumari track. i also think it is a lovely track. i keep begging reimer (kettel) to make more tracks like that. but he is exploring other directions right now i suppose. there will be a kettel track on the new autumn records compilation "autumnature" which is due sometime. (there will also be tracks by cex, colongib, bauri, marumari, asterisk, fizzarum, jet jaguar, zammuto, ml, and more, nice plug, huh?) i hope to put out a kettel release in the future. and a remix he did for me will also appear on an autumn records 12" in the future. he just has a solid production quality and a clean sound with melodic subtlety that works well for me but not for all. good day, greg davis autumn records http://autumnrecords.cjb.net --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I know http://www.normanrecords.co.uk have stocked the last few Kettel 12", and I'm sure that they will get the 7" in for you if you ask and it's still available. I'm assuming you have already tried Warpnet. Also, if you look in the FAQ on the planet-mu site they list the main records shops where you can by Mu stuff. Hope this helps, Glenn Thomas Aikin wrote:

anyone into kettel? im listening to "cenney crush" right now and it reminds me alot of Black Dog circa "Bytes" and (to a lesser degree) "Spanners". great stuff. the ep "look at this! Ha ha ha!" is great too, but not so much like Black Dog. and ive heard samples of the new Kettel album "Volleyed Iron" which sounds like it is a very good ambient release. what other albums might i like by him? do all his albums vary so much one from another, like the above three do? -thad Thad Biggerstaff instrumental@comcast.net "Not to forget, I 'museumize' myself; so that then I pay myself a visit and find me again in all the relics, to hand down memories from one to the other, like a genealogical tree, as if it were morning!" - Massimo Toniutti

Thad, You'll find there's a lot more consistency & almost too much like-sounding stuff on his other releases. He recorded a lot of stuff in a small time frame and i think it shows when you compare releases like Atomic Tadley, Red Pear, Dreim, etc. I happen to like his Smiling Little Cow release the best. You could see some comparisions to '94-'95 black dog there for sure. However it's interesting to see him trying new things. I read an interview with Kettel recently and he certainly seems to have a lot of music & ideas left in him to release.
