OOOOH! I KNOW, I KNOW!!!!" But this time I don't have to wait for the teacher to call on me. Oh no! I can just post it at my own convenience. Eh? EH! You hear that Ms. Baskin?! I don't NEED your goddamn permission anymore! dominique: lexaunculpt's "your choroid coat" is another good album. In fact, all of his work is very good. gzvp

yo dom, hate to break it to you but you're most likely not going to get too far with your query here. why not? it's simply too open to interpretation. i'd suggest just lurking a bit, jot down some names when the description sounds interesting, then scouring the net a bit. run over to cdnow to check out sound samples. find some good internet radio. check the warp site (www.warprecords.com) and listen to some sound samples. read some reviews on some online zines (try the below URL, try igloo mag, try forcefield.net, explore links), and just start piecing it together. i say this only because i fear if you solicit recommendations from a list of people with very well-defined tastes, you may get steered awry and never come back. :) philip sherburne contributing editor, neumu https://www.neumu.net/needledrops

Or those people who ask for recommendations can just listen to a shiload of IDM and figure out for themselves what he/she likes/dislikes, simple,I can give many examples of people recommending some "awesome IDM" lp's and when I get a chance to listen to them they sound like fucked up noises that sound like they came out of a cow's ass.

You should check out the nyc idm list on Yahoo Groups: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/newyork-idm/ Also, a non-discussion weekly events list: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nyc_electronic_events_calendar/ And I have another suggestion - compilations are an excellent way to get introduced to many artists at once, and specifically, if you're interested in idm/ambient/idm, check out "Aurora" on Merck Records (www.m3rck.net) - an excellent ambient/idm/ambient compilation...
