well, the previously mentioned plug-in works by discarding audio data
that is identical between stereo channels (ie, the vocalist's signal,
which is *usually* dead centre). if a plugin was written that reversed
this (keeping *only* the data that is identical between right and left
channels), then we'd have the voice alone left over (for the most part).
unhappily, i can't say that i know of such a plugin/app/filter, or
whatever you'd call it.
