V/A Unattainable Texts, A Precis
On this LP ten tracks from as much artists, whereof title and executor or not mention. Diskono stilt that in the experimental music of nowadays is to many time and energy spend on marketing, name-dropping, trendy sites and appearing in the right magazines are become more important than the music. Diskono takes distance from this point of view with a release on clear vinyl without sleeve or other form of information.
TAAPET: Taapet sounds
There where much improvisation music is chaotic is the Taapet suspicious structured, even fluent and smooth. The album has the right balance between long swelling soundscapes and short concrete pieces. Certainly a disk that is very expressive without beats and gives a taking result with rather minimal sounds.
ANDREAS BERTHLING: Tiny little white ones (like handfuls of salt)
Music stripped to ones and zero's, bytes with as less as possible bits and still contents. High frequent tones, low frequencies sounds, and waves from noise and sounds.
YANNIS KYRIAKIDES: A conspiracy Cantata
For the average electronic music fan is it probably a bit too arty, but it is a listen-able album. With much emotion, very expressive, with an almost classic approaching from music but experimental sounding.. not everybody have the capacity to do this.
JIM O'ROURKE: I'm happy, And I'm singing, And a 1,2,3,4
Records as this and for example the "Endless summer" record from Fennesz will show many people the direction to the electronic music scene. I can recommend this one and not only for the trendy name.
V.A.: Variable access
A pleasure surprises this Active Suspension compilation, a very good overview from the nowadays-electronic subgenera. From minimal electronic, more pop oriented project and sound-collage builders. This CD has the prise from a single and must promote the vinyl catalogue, so what will stop you?
GAMMON/KHAN: Stitch (Soundtrack)
Stitch is a 20 minutes during movie, a study from a town in a southern village in NorthWest Alabama. The artist Gammon from Vienna made this soundtrack. The title track is from Kahn, an electronic artist with an own label and shop in NY and his third long-player is released on Matador.
HYPO: Jingles & Singles
Music with attitude, a real DIY feels, much humour and a cut & paste collage technique.
Hope you enjoyed them,
Greetings
