what's also interesting is that eventually it seems that it will come to
light that certain musics (and more specifically certain melodic and
rhythmic combinations and textures) resonate differently on a neurological
level in males and females. researchers are now pinpointing exact areas of
the brain that respond to specific stimuli.
(my new secret idea that i shouldn't share):
imagine a music video for your favorite song that is a continuous shot of
someone listening to that songs Cat-scan-fead-type-thing. we would see an
exact replica of what is basically going on in our own brains as we watch
the song. maybe that would trigger some serious synesthesia seizures or
something.
*i certainly agree that the whole male/female/IDM thing is mainly socially
influenced, i certainly believe as well that there are fundamental physical
dispositions that lead you to one music type or another.
