I can't remember who it was on-list that recommended this as an awesome bed-time listening session, but they were absolutely right! If you are a fan of IDM with totally downtempo drum beats and mellow, soft and flowing synth pads, then you should love this release like no other. It's absolutely perfect for listening to at work where your job might totally stress you out otherwise. -somrux. http://www.somrux.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Yes that cd has been getting a lot of play here in my office as well...it's really relaxing. Agreed. Some very nice guitar/electronic pieces which remind me very much of Arovane's Tides. Someone said he actually played on that album as well but I haven't got it here to check it out. Glenn somrux wrote:

You know, you're right. Tides sounds very much like this release. The big difference that I hear between Arovane and C. Kleine is that Arovane's stuff seems to sound a bit more "random". Listening to the Kleine stuff that I have, he seems to use more structure in his music as opposed to Arovane - although I enjoy them both equally. : ) -somrux. http://www.somrux.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Glenn McClements" <glenn.mcclements@openwave.com> Cc: <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Thursday, November 29, 2001 9:42 AM Subject: Re: [idm] Christian Kleine - Beyond Repair (CCO)

The new Ulrich Schnauss album on City Centre Offices has a similar vibe. And I've really been enjoying the Minotaur Shock album on Melodic Records (http://www.melodic.co.uk/ and http://www.minotaurshock.com for more info). well, i'm not such a big fan of arovane, but here's 3 things that should appeal if you liked the christian kleine lp: 1) Four Tet - Pause i was only recently introduced to this (thanks kurt!), and i have no idea why i didn't know about it before. it's sort of in the same downtempo/relaxing/melodic vibe as c. kleine. lots of heavy beats with really lovely harp and guitar melodies and things along with it. great stuff. highly recommended. 2) Tosca - Suzuki this is actually closer to four tet than to c. kleine, probably. it's a sweet album though, filled with laid-back downtempo grooves with nice trippy dubby stuff over top. like a funkier, happier, less scary, less pedophilic [ :) ] BoC. 3) Hermann + Kleine - Kickboard Girl EP this is just sublime, and everyone should own it. gorgeous, relaxing, perfect. -nub --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

My best recommendation would be Ulrich Schnauss' album 'Far Away Trains Passing By' also on City Centre Offices. Simply splendid. Oh yeah, the Manual album 'Until Tomorrow' on Morr Music mines that particular vein as well. ///D --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
