I've really gotta agree here. Y'know how something is so good and personal
that comes out and you almost get that feeling like you don't want to share it
with anyone else? This is a release like that for me. Think Pole's alter-ego
when he's messing around with records and no studio gear and you will get an
idea of what Jeck sounds similar to. I read that on this particular recording,
he uses around 40 portable German turntables (at any one given time) to create
his rich soundscapes of lock grooves, cuts from razor-blades (from Jeck), and
calculated placements of superglue (also from Jeck).
Highlight : I probably don't even have to say it if you've heard this, but...
"Little Drummer Boy".
Possibly my favorite album of the year!

This Philip Jeck masterpiece first came to my
attention from the Aquarius Records site reviews....
Friggin incredible.
This is intense stuff; layers and layers of sound
sources fading in and out. A bit like better Dead
Voices on Air.
Wire magazine recently had an article about Jeck's
work and described him as one to watch.
