Looking for information on a release I saw reviewed. Can't remember any info other than it was described as being minimal work with the Roland TR-808 drum machine, and the reviewer saw a performance of it at a venue that was located in a ship. Google searches have turned up no useful information. Any ideas? nrejack --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

"performance of it at a venue that was located in a ship." This may be The Frying Pan venue in nyc. It's an old ship. SinFest 2000 (www.sinfestival.com) took place there. Also, Squarepusher, Richard Devine, and Alec Empire have all played there in the last two years. Hope this helps. Incidentally, I can see it from my office. Interesting. frank From: "Nicholas Rejack" <nrejack@mailandnews.com> Subject: that one release with that one name... Looking for information on a release I saw reviewed. maybe one of fred bigot's 12"s, "mono.stereo" or "binary.tertiary"? i remember using certain terminology describing his acoustic-science approach, via our concert at the ms stubnitz in rostock, germany back in 1999, where he tuned the filter to resonate the hull of the ship, in one of the fe blurbs. he's got tons of records out, most are two 808s, two procorat pedals, a filterbank, and a small battery powered sampler. some of his muso veers more towards pan(a)sonic style sounds, some are straight up rockabilly. the kompakt crowd took a liking to him, as he's one of the premiere 'schaffel-techno' producers, unbeknownst to himself, he's landed in a movement. also records as electronicat for the noise museum label, does live shows with kaspar t. toeplitz. i hear he's done a bunch of stuff with khan as well. that may be the who and what... -våt -- reckankreuzungsklankewerkzeuge mobile services. currently: syndey, new south wales, australia. upcoming concerts: sunday, october 7th. the drone. impermanent audio, imperial slacks building, surrey hills. with oren ambarchi, robbie aveneim, peter blamey, vicky browne, jasmine guffond, scott horscroft, julian knowles, torben tilly, keith fullerton whitman. 2pm, $5/7. sunday, october 7th. frigid. hopetoun hotel, surry hills, syndey, australia. with hrvatski, fat cat sound system, pimmon, sub bass snarl, sir robbo. 4pm, $7. wednesday, october 10th. anticon, hrvatski, curse ov dialekt. revolver upstairs, melbourne, australia. future: november 9th, warsaw @ the polish national home, µ-ziq, venetian snares, hrvatski. november 14th, bard college, annandale-on-hudson, new york. hrvatski. november 17th, columbus, oh. µ-ziq, venetian snares, hrvatski. reckankreuzungsklankewerkzeuge post office box 381964 cambridge, ma 02238-1964 usa http://www.reckankomplex.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
