I hope that United States learned its lessons with Pearl Harbor as far as
targeting the Arab community goes. We are a melting pot, there are many of
us here of all different nationalities, religions, beliefs and we have to
take care of each other because who knows who the next target might be. And
because all these distinctions are shallow.
My heart goes out to everyone in New York. I really cant concentrate on
working right now, everything I am doing feels so insignificant in
comparison... My dad was supposed to fly to New York tomorrow morning for a
conference right next to the World Trade Center.
if there is anything you guys need as far as help goes, i really dont know
what, but please feel free to email me personally and i will do all in my
power. I am in SoCalifornia.
The one positive thing to come out of this is the sense of community that
seems to be emerging. Even with the idm list which is about music, people
are pulling together and giving each other support. Eye contact is being
made where it wasnt before, everyone is reaching out to each other, all our
stupid daily bickering is dissolving. I hope it is continued.
anyway, New York, hope all your families and friends are safe and please do
not hesitate to ask for help.
take care,
julia
