I will say that any intentional connection between Boards of Canada and any religious cult is absurd, but consider the lyric for "In A Beautiful Place" "Come out and live with a religious community in a beautiful place out in the country" I always think of Scattergood Friends School when I hear this track. But it could have darker connotations, which is something that BoC constantly toys with. I don't know if anyone cares, but I found a picture of David Koresh that matches the picture of the "eye" on BoC the record sleeve.
