Agreed! I had an itchy trigger finger due to the possibly very limited supply. Couldn't help myself. I also particularly love these tracks. He just posted a remastered version of the first track. I'm sure more are on the way, but 4 days ago there were 12 copies posted. Oddly, earlier today there were still 10. I'm not sure if this batch is discernible from what might be a larger batch? If so, damn that's a small batch. Shipping from Italy... I guess directly from the plant? Also, it appears this isn't on Warp. I think this is someone who knows their way around a DAW making some pleasant tracks, and then dropping some clumsy "hey, maybe I'm Aphex!" hints with the artwork and track titles. The tracks sound nice enough but to suggest RDJ is involved is plain silly. If it's really him, then it's a big joke even by his standards, since he'd then be pretending to be someone who's doing a not-good-enough job of pretending to be him. Again: it's nice stuff. I'm not knocking it as a standalone achievement, but I'm marking it down for pretending to be something it is not. It doesn't sound like Aphex to me, nor Vibert nor one or other of the Jenkinsons, but it does sound like someone who has listened to a lot of Aphex and put in some real effort trying to sound like Aphex." 2016-10-29 3:24 GMT+02:00 nat hawks <natbot@hotmail.com>:

https://m.soundcloud.com/brainwaltzera That's the main soundcloud page this ep was posted on. I have zero proof, but I was under the impression that this was Aphex's 2nd soundcloud account. Agreed, if this ep was posted alone there were be little reason to believe this authentic. Between the depth of the soundcloud page and, I would argue, the quality, I believe this to be authentic, ... but I may be wrong. After doubting everything I thought true in the universe....I still believe this to be Aphex. -soundcloud username is randomly generated like first "official" dump. -similarly unpolished sound on many of the soundcloud files similar to first dump. -similar naming conventions -the sheer volume of tracks -not to mention the obvious general style and quality -thumbnail aesthetic is generally consistent with first dump. It's far too grand to be a prankster. If it were a different artist they would have likely revealed themselves already. This account has gotten years of posts. Thus, I deduce, though I may be wrong, that this is RDJ. I agree that the light style is not typical, and I'm unsure what years these specific tracks are from. Ultimately, I find these tracks to have that special sauce (sorry). OK... I've done some more digging, and more importantly listening, I still think it's AFX. But I would be totally just as into it if it were someone else. I get the whole it could be Squarepusher or MikeP or... whomever from that era, but I have trouble accepting that anyone but AFX would sit on a treasure trove like this for that long. I love MikeP to death, but his archival material that he has released isn't in this style at all. While this is slightly funky at times, it doesn't go anywhere near SquarePusher levels of Tom-foolery (sorry). I love the idea that this could be either collaborative pieces or a dumping ground from like-minded folks from that era, but it's too seamless from track-to-track. Feels like one mind is behind this. Though, god, if this was the Braindance collective reuniting that would be lovely. Maybe Ovuca?! Been revisiting the Astrobotnia albums. Absolutely some of my favorite IDM of all time. But again, with AFX it makes sense that he would be sitting on all this. With anyone else it doesn't. For anyone curious to go down this hole deeper, here are some interesting bits... <https://www.facebook.com/brainwaltzera/> interesting thread here that argues against it being RDJ https://www.reddit.com/r/aphextwin/comments/2undvc/brainwaltzera_soundcloud_account_is_this_aphex/ the plot thickens... the post from May 5 2015 has interesting insights... http://forum.watmm.com/topic/85636-richard-d-james-soundcloud-a-gift-to-the-fans/page-386 There is a "Who is Brainwaltzera" Facebook page that I couldn't find any clues on... https://www.facebook.com/brainwaltzera/

Aphex Twin has quietly released a new archival release under the Brainwaltz= era moniker. It is a charming collection of melodic, beat-driven tracks li= kely from the late '90's or early 2000's (can anyone confirm?!). *The entire ep if uploaded on his soundcloud at https://soundcloud.com/brainwaltzera/sets/marzi-an *it is currently for sale on discogs under the Brainwaltzera profile https://www.discogs.com/seller/brainwaltzera/profile *Currently 10 copies left, shipping from Italy.
