Incidentally, that's not their own language that they sing their songs in. They
actually transcribed the invented language that the prog rock band Magma used
in their music and now uses it for their own. Or so I'm told.
Anyway, I just realized I won't be in NYC for this ruins gig. Goddamnit! Does
anyone know if they have a touring schedule listed anywhere. I'll be in the SF
Bay Area for about a week starting March 9 and I thought that that there might be
a slight chance I'll cross paths with them. Probably not though. While I'm
asking, anyone know of any more IDM-oriented events happening in the area
around then? Thanks.
Did anyone see the Ruins tour last year? It wasn't quite an exclusively Ruins
show. They called it something like "The Japanese New Music Festival". It
consisted of the two Ruins members and a third guy who I don't remember much
about. Anyway, between the three of them, there were 5 different projects. One
was the Ruins drummer solo playing guitar, keyboard, and drums all at once.
Another was an all a capella group with all three of them that was fucking
fantastic. They had a touring CD of the "festival" too that I'm sure was a very
limited printing. Anyone have it and feel like making some mp3s?
