It came out last week. It's a Matador Europe only release, but import copies should be pretty easy to come by. The album is out in both the US and Europe (and Japan, with an exclusive bonus track) in March. Is it coming out on Matador US?>> If you mean the California Rhinoplasty EP, you should definitely pick it up (it's been out for a few weeks now). The full 10 minute track "California Rhinoplasty" along with 2 lovely mixes by Dr. Rockit and Surgery. It is entirely composed of samples of surgery (how Matmos could wrangle their way into viewing and sampling surgery is anyone's guess) along with some fancy stylings on the nose flute. The extra track, a cover of Coil's "Disco Hospital" is worth the price of the CD alone. I am fairly new to Matmos and am already a fan. I also just picked up Matmos' Quasi-Objects yesterday and was suitably impressed. I was also surprised to hear just how much "Latex" sounds like Coil's "Green Water" (off 1000 Lights in a Darkened Room). Same sound source, or some sly sampling? Does anyone else notice the similarity?
