Two new releases from the excellent Komplott label out of Sweden. Here are the details on both:

. Komp: vena lp (Komplott - elupre02)
LANCE COMMENTS -- Komp's track on Merck's Squadron comp was one of the better tracks on that release so i was eager to hear his new album. On Vena, Komp doesnt disappoint doing a excellent job at combining enviting melodies with hiphop perucssions and ghosted garbeled vocals/samples. Highlights include the slow plodding distorto-vocal hiphop track 'whest side,' 'lif's' pleasent melodic glitch-squelch track, the bleepy melodies of '171 21 collins ave,' and the poppy melodies and bouncy bassline of 'her dear love.' Vena is a very komp-etent release from this newcomer and one to surely bring his name to the forefront of the newschool-idm crowd. Fans of the whole Merck, Lexaunculpt, Pitchcadet, Schematic sound will dig this one.
PRESS COMMENTS -- Whilst Andreas Tillander has been composing music for almost ten years, this lp represents his debut release (with the exception of his appearance on Merck?s excellent ?Squadron? compilation cd). Vena is an album of modern sounding electronica charged with alternative beats, noise and suggestive melodies all tied up with a broad spectre of influences techno, ambient, hip-hop, dub, etc. This album looks just to be the beginning of several releases for Andreas
Tillander this year. Another album is scheduled for release on the German Raster-Noton imprint and an appearance on a forthcoming Fat Cat compilation is also planned.

. Figurera: de reparera 12? (Komplott esdilar01)
LANCE COMMENTS -- On figurera's last release he undertook the task of creating a more experimental brand of electronic music that had as much in common with mego or touch as it did with more idm-friendly sounds. but on De Reparera, figurera has taken on more of a a darker almost introspective tone focusing at time on deep percussive movements (eleqhn) and others on delicate melodic movements (inikar & persona), and even one piano concerto mixed with weird samples & effects (lael). The overall effect that figurera's de reparera ep conveyed was one of subtle sometimes even unsettling motions built around dark melodies reminscent of past releases by Irdial's Anthony Manning or maybe even some of Freeforms less percussive pieces. A very mature sound for such a new artist. Check it out to see if it's for you.
PRESS COMMENTS -- Figurera follow up last year?s debut album with this new 6-track ep. A different approach to electronic music this time in the shape of irresistible classic melodies combined with irregular rhythms and soundscapes.
