In fact, I don't see a much difference between it and the new one, either in sound quality or compositional style. And you should know that I myself am an audio engineer and a sort of musicologist and I listen to these releases very carefully. >> Okay, Im glad you like the cd, and it amazes me that you like it, and also disturbs me. I am also an audio engineer, and one who works hard on his music and has lots of experience (5 years of composing Techno and IDM, 3 years of choir when I was young, and 2 years of violin.. among other things.. and I have played at at least 8 live gigs with at least 1000 people at 2-3 of them watching me and I have gotten lots of good compliments on my music, the older stuff of which is on mp3.com/manicdetroit). So, basically what I am saying is that I know what I am talking about when it comes to music. I think it is wonderful if Datachi loves his own music, and I don't look down upon him at all for making the kind of music he does. But if you look at music in the way you do, then what makes this music good other than its originality.. I could make a CD that sounds like shit and is totally original, there is no difficulty at all in doing that, but will a record lable sign me on that note? FUCK no, and will I get recognition, FUCK no, and will I get a review that says I made the best CD, FUCK NO. What about the GOOD artists who can make a melody that can make you feel emotions, ISNT THAT WHAT MUSIC IS ABOUT??? HUH? Also, the CD doesn't even have much stuff that you can call music on it at all, ... he only plays notes in maybe 3 of the tracks on the CD. I can tell that there wasn't much work put into this.. And it wasn't well thought out at all. His second CD did differ much from this CD, he didn't record it badly, and there was less distortion, and there was NOTES in every SONG.. and the songs progressed into things.. in short it was real MUSIC. you need mental help if you truly think this album is the best ever.. and please keep far away from me if you do. nick www.manicdetroit.com www.8bitpeoples.com www.mp3.com/manicdetroit --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

FUCK no, and will I get recognition, FUCK no, and will I get a review that says I made the best CD, FUCK NO. Totally disagree. Did you not read what I wrote about The Shaggs and the Kids of Whidney High? These are shitty bands playing shitty music recorded in shitty studios. And they continue to put out cds and have many fans who buy them. Last time the Whidney High kids played in LA it was at the House of Blues. Which is three times as big as the Viper Room where Funkstorung plays this week. You obviously have never sent a cd to a record label. Do you not know about Wesley Willis? He is some homeless guy from San Francisco who found a Casio toy keyboard and started making up lyrics to the built-in drum pattern. He used the same pattern for every song. He made ridiculous songs the most well known of which was "Rock and Roll McDonalds." Rick Rubin signed him to American Recordings where he put out numerous cds. Yes I know of wesley willis, people only buy his CD because it is fucking funny to hear rediculous music... Its only got laugh value, which is still not good music.. Do you really think there are people that think his music is GOOD? What about the GOOD artists who can make a melody that can make you feel emotions, ISNT THAT WHAT MUSIC IS ABOUT??? HUH? Just because you feel one emotion while listening to a certain song doesn't mean every other person listening to that same song feels the same emotion. Example. Back in the 80s when that Faith No More album came out a friend of mine really liked it. I listened to it and thought it was horseshit. Being a guitarist, it baffled me how anyone could like it. Their guitarist played the same chords the whole way- E, B, C, D, A, G. How could that be interseting to anybody? My friend didn't care about any of that. She just liked the way it sounded- the way it made her feel. Just because I use these other criteria in listening to music doesn't make my judgement of that music any more viable than hers. Umm, you do realize that you just said that you thought the music was horseshit, which is what you just said was wrong to say about any music.. Mhmm... and there was less distortion, and there was NOTES in every SONG.. and the songs progressed into things.. in short it was real MUSIC. So what's your definition of music? It's gotta have no distortion and it's gotta have notes and every song must develop. Is Merzbow not music? Have you heard African drum music? It doesn't have notes and may or may not develop. So I guess by your definition it's not music. I never said anything about distortion being bad?? where did that come from, I am a big ATR fan, and a big old aphex (the harder minimal stuff) fan. And I never said that it has to develop, but it does have to have more than just a fucked up badly recorded drum beat. I make the analogy of anatomy... Are you your arm, or you leg? No, you are the collective organization of all your body parts working in unison controlled by your brain. So why is a fucked up drum beat that repeats over and over a song? Have you heard gamelon orchestras? Or Oval? Or any of those cds on Fax that are just one note sustained for an hour? Is that not music? No, that is not music, and no I have never heard it, and thank you for telling me so that I wont buy it. Everything you've expressed in your e-mails has been an OPINION. You are absolutely entitled to it just as I am entitled to mine. There is no black or white. Yes, we both have different opinions, and I never said your opinion was downright wrong, I was just trying to show you what I think and support it with evidence to make it make more sense.. just like you did And I dont meen to be argumentative, and I was joking in my last comment in the other mail.. look, Im glad there are supporters of this music out there, but I just don't think people put credit where it deserves.... I meen, I have heard many artists on the internet that I think deserve awards for their music, because they are passionate about it, and they are good at it.. and they have a talent that deserves recognition, but they arent getting their music out because people spent their money on this crap, and I am just ranting and raving because I am downright pissed off that I was tricked, that sticker on the front of the cd case lied, and don't say it didn't because this was most deffinately not the best release.. and I am also pissed off that I bought schnider tm's moise, because it said it was (in so many words) better then, and similar to aphex twin, who I am obviosly a fan of. I think this would all be resolved if I could return my cds to the guys who sold them to me, but I can't.. and I don't want to support music like this. nick www.manicdetroit.com www.8bitpeoples.com www.mp3.com/manicdetroit --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
