Also... I would suggest everyone check out Ben Stinga's - Underground
Solution radio program on RTR FM - Perth, Australia. It comes on at 6am
Saturday mornings PST (9am Eastern, 2pm GMT) and has played a huge role in
my discovery of this world everyone speaks of. He plays tracks from all of
the labels mentioned and a lot more. Check it out:

PS ... Yes I wake up at 6am on Saturday mornings... I'm slightly masochistic
:).

there's *so much* good stuff out there like this right
now - i've pretty much been buying tech-house and
electro exclusively for a good while, and passing on a
idm stuffs that just don't hold my attention like they
used to. occasionally people on this list will talk
about a record for more than two weeks, and those seem
to be the ones to snag - arovane's "tides" and cim's
"reference" albums actually lived up to their reps.
but if you're not too clued-up on tech-house and
looking for similar sounds, it's almost best to
listen/buy by label - check perlon, lo-fi stereo,
plastic city, force tracks, basic channel, mosaic,
driftwood, fiji, swayzak recs, anything in this vein
might please. there's a tech-house list at the link
below, i've been subbed off for a while but in the
past it's proven a good resource with way less
static/traffic than this list:
http://www.techno.ca (think that's right - page won't
load at the moment...)
aside from that - one disc that's been kicking my arse
lately is the upcoming terry lee brown jr. "terry's
cafe vol. 3" on plastic city. way more horizontal
than previous outings, the man knows how to set a mood
and it's all on a minimal tip. i usually hear one or
two tracks on a comp. i like, but after hearing this
one i had a whole shopping list'o tunes to look for.
not sure if it's out yet, if not soon. along with his
own album "from dub 'til dawn" which is good but much
clubbier fare with a dubbier edge.
idm content: if you missed the live webcasts a couple
weeks back, ensemble at rephlex has sets from his west
coast trip posted at dublab and betalounge now, you
can check the realaudio whenevah....
