on a related note...
a few weeks ago this DJ called Darryl Hell spun at Halcyon in Brooklyn and
it was off the hook. Halcyon is a record store/lounge/cafe/bar so DJs
there can spin more adventerous/head music rather than making you shake
your booty since there's no dance floor. Anyways, Darryl spun a very
IDMish set... one of the highlights was some aphex tune into squarepusher
with scratching on top of it and then later he did some crazy scratch shit
with/Aphex's Bucephalus Bouncing Ball played at 33 1/3.
unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to talk to the guy or get a tape
but if he spins in your area you should go.
