(I believe Compost's Rainer Truby is featured on Rootdown)
----------------------
Truby compiled Rootdown.
There's actually another compilation out there called Rootdown, also compiled by Truby, of older rare groove/jazz tracks from the sixties and seventies.
i got to say...you're right on my wavelength with everything you posted! can i add: the Faze Action album on Nuphonic, anything by Circulation (the one from E3 and Heard recordings, aka Diz aka Joshua), gorgeous, melodic, inventive, sickeningly-well-produced house music...see also the Mundial Muzique compilation on Guidance, the Truby-compiled Glucklick compilations on Compost, the New Latinaires compilations on Ubiquity plus all the numerous Jazzanova remixes, all wicked...Rainer Truby's been a bit absent lately...i'm assuming there's a few Truby Trio eps/remixes coming out (one of Nitin Sawhney is already out)...
other things i've really been feeling:
the Audiomontage ep on Freerange
new Ian O'Brien single on Peacefrog (his 'gigantic days' was in my top five this year)
Kirk Degiorgio's recent work remixing Newcleus, Beanfield (not to mention the Beanfield album "Human Patterns" on Compost), and Tate's Place (whose 'Burnin'' was also remixed by Jazzanova, brilliantly)
Fela Kuti ("Opposite People"...does music get better than this?)
Depth Charge "Lust 2"...haven't heard volume 1 yet but happened to take a chance on this, and holy fuck, the bass in this will tear your head off...sick dub-based breakbeat/hip hop tracks with intense stereo effects/studio tricks, the requisite kung fu samples and the hardest-hitting beats i've heard in awhile...anyone heard 1?
Isolee's "Beau Mot Plage", Heaven & Earth mix and new Freeform mix. I"m not quite sure what you'd call it but it's beautiful. :)
the new 2000 Black release....anyone have a discog for them? i'm missing releases...
whew...
can anyone give me some insight into Wevie Stonder? is this Skam's comedy album? i'm not sure i get it...
anyone hearing anything else similar?
