i LOVE t power AND vibert, and i must say that i was sort of disappointed with the Chocolate Weasel CD. it's got a great sense of humor and style to burn, but the songs themselves i thought were pretty underwhelming. there are one or two tracks that i really like, and the rest just sort of seems to sit there. it could be the company, though. ninja tune had what i consider to be their strongest run ever when the Chocolate Weasel CD was released. we were getting full-lengths from Clifford Gilberto, Amon Tobin, Animals on Wheels, Coldcut. . .IMO, just about anything stacked up against these other releases would be dwarfed. ymmv. -jeff -------------- 1642 try 621 --------------

speaking of that... i enjoyed the zentonedada sampler more than i thought i would. the mr. scruff & cabbageboy tracks are silly but enjoyable, & the cinematic orchestra track _is_ a keeper. as for the big dada tracks, they seemed nice although i don't know enough about hip-hop to say more than that. but the animals on wheels cut was such a disappointment. is he only into cheesy little beats nowadays, rather than the playful, masterful drill n bass i so enjoyed on 'designs & mistakes'? what a downer! -- david
