<in the car, on the way to hear emmetropik/solenoid/lexaunculpt
in seattle on saturday night>
-(a) ...so this was a YOU record
-(b) meaning what?
-(a) meaning, sexy hip-hop
-(b) nice. so is that what lexaunculpt will be like?
-(a) uh, i don't think so. i don't know, i just think
his music is pretty. besides, he's just a kid, kids
can't do sexy all that well. i mean, not really.
and don't forget solenoid, the little i've heard has
been really exciting.
-(b & c) who?
-(a) you'll hear when we get there.
<at the event>
-(c) wow, ben <emmetropik> has really gotten into this
minimal stuff, huh?
-(a) yeah, i think he found his fascination. it's hiding
in between all those pesty sounds.
-(c) whatever, he should keep doing this, it works. i wish
more people than just us knew about it.
<later>
-(b) this is a bit intense, i like it but i feel like i
should be more nervous. this solenoid guy - he's
dangerous.
-(a) you don't like it?
-(b) no, i do. i just have this feeling i should be more
nervous about it. it's awfully intense. fascinating.
-(c) not at all, it's great, it's just not what i expected.
<still later>
*smack*
-(b) you said it wouldn't be, and it is, sexy hip-hop.
-(a) uh, i don't know, i don't hear that . i still just
think it's really pretty. and i'd like to know how
a kid gets a g3 laptop, jesus.
-(b) i don't believe you, there's this gorgeous complex
music on hand, and you're thinking about the machine.
whatever.
-<c) if i could play this on the radio, i would love
my job. *sigh*
-----------------
so yeah, on saturday night, seattle had a rare treat.
much thanks to the guys for travelling up, and to ben
& yara for sacrificing their house for the affair. it
was great, and i wish we could have these events more
often...
