for all the Woob fans:
this weekend i received two discs by Kurt Ralske /
Cathars on Miau Miau International.
it's very lush, atmospheric stuff with a touch
of melancholy. Best music in that vein i've heard
since Woob. it's less beaty, but slightly more
hypnotic.
The first disc is called 'kyrie eleison' and has
three tracks that you can absolutely get lost in,
long, beautiful, soaring tracks.. the second,
'amorpheus' is a more electronic sounding take on
the same basic style, and is really moody. gets
downright creepy at points.. but the bottom line
is, they're both very good, and i highly recommend
them to anyone looking for music that makes you feel like
your body is flying through the atmosphere while
the earth calmly disintegrates beneath you.
