I haven't heard the new Like A Tim, but I've been disappointed with his more recent releases when
compared to my favorites like "Housegirl/Homeboy" or "The Bus". I'm not sure if it's just the
novelty wearing off, but I kind of feel as though the quirky, humorous aspects have taken
precedence over writing good songs. My friend just got the live Like-a-Tim picture-disc in the
mail and the damn thing keeps skating whenever he tries to play it. There's a "Mardi Gras/Rock the
Bells" breakdown at the end of one side that sounds like it would be pretty cool, if only we could
hear it. :/
I heard that "Like-a" is actually meant to be "Laijka", meaning "dead". Supposedly it was a
nickname he earned in grade school because the other kids thought he looked dead.
