I absolutely adore the Sons of the Sun track on the new Fat Cat compilation. How does the rest of the Sons of the Sun 12" compare to this track? While on the same subject, is the Rome 12" in the Thrill Jockey remix 12" series anything like Sons of the Sun? Mike. np: v/a - "Across Uneven Terrain"

I've got the 'Heavenlamp' 12". There's two mixes of 'Angkor Thom', one of which is the album version (which was remixed by Andy Bryant). The two 'proper' Sons of the Sun track are a bit ambient/drone-ish. The first track sounds like something from Tangerine Dream's 'Rubycon', only without the diversity of sounds, whereas the second track sounds like Mira Calix's 'Ms. Meteo' but without the vocals or drums. -- Mark Stevens http://www.sonance.demon.co.uk/
