While I agree the Transient Waves was extremely nice (best of the whole bunch, I think), and some of the earlier ones were OK as well (Amp, Fuxa), this series is not all it should be... in fact, I generally avoid buying records with the blissout tag on them because usually that implies some sort of Kranky wannabe glacial drone genericness (though not all). the breakdown of what I've heard (pretty much the whole series): .Windy & Carl - Antarctica (#2): alright flat, huge drones. pretty generic though. .Orange Cake Mix - Silver Lining Underwater (#3): electronic pop kitsch. pretty yucky. .Amp - Perception (#4): pretty good, esp. if you like the bristol scene. bit more washed out than their other recordings. .Fuxa - Venoy (#5): good if a bit unfocused. More "rock" less "drone" but it's an odd kind of synthesizer heavy slow, spacy rock. .Tomorrowland - Stereoscopic Soundwaves (#6): way dull drones. .Mirza - Anadromous (#7): atrocious wankfest. The worst of the series. .Transient Waves - Wading and Waiting (#8): as stated, the best of all. .American Analog Set - Late One Sunday (#9): 2 tracks, one a wanky vaguely tortoisy number (if I recall correctly, it was extremely unmemorable) and an ok round tone vaguely microstoria but with more color song. .Junior Varsity KM - Taking Care of You (#10): Pure unadulterated shite. .Bright - Blue Christian (#11): didn't hear much of this one, but what I did hear was OK Krautrock wannabeness. .Piano Magic - A Trick of the Sea (#12): Piss dull. --- the humble abbott arthur purvis set his hand hereto

i don't know what's so wannabe, they seem to be pretty successful at it. a couplefew years on and i still dig flowchart's "tenjira" though. it must be the melodic danish ambient electro fan in me (my middle toe on my left foot as well as certain parts of my heart). excellent "sunny breakfast" music, though their more recent stuff has strolled the harmonic chaos path. eric
