Has anyone heard the Hurricane #1 remix by My Bloody Valentine and is it any good? Obviously I don't want to buy a hurricane #1 single if I can possibly avoid it. Also: Noticed today that there was an album by somebody who's name I can't remember which is co-produced by Kevin. What's it like? I doubt anyone will know what I'm referring to so I shall shut up. I must pay more attention to names - quite important really. Nick

As good as a polished turd can be anyway. I don't know of an album co-produced by Kevin - don't think such a thing exists. He is however working with J Mascis at the moment on the next Mascis/Dinosaur album. There is an *EP* produced by Kevin (rather than remixed). It's by O'Neill (Damien O'Neill ex Undertones/That Petrol Emotion) and is called "No Flies on Frank" on a French label called Artefact. 4 pretty cool tracks of quite poppy guitar effects and rhythms with plenty of trademark Shields whooshes and slides. Worth finding - you can get it from Normans http://www.normrecs.u-net.com/ Robin

Shields and Mascis played a gig in my local (Bay State Hotel, Northampton, MA) about a month ago, under the name Wank Factor 7. I'd seen Mascis play drums with the band before, so I didn't go down that time. Naturally I only find out Shields was there 2 weeks after the event :( Curses! CheerioAndrewC.
