Labradford is touring right now. Saw them in Iowa CIty tonight and they were amazing -- droning, melodic, trance inducing ambient. An absolute must-see. Their new album is fantastic as well -- the guitar isn't dead after all ;-) They'll be at the 400 club in Minneapolis tomorrow night (Tuesday, Nov 19) and then they'll be in Portland OR. A must see cheap evening. --------------------------------------------------------------------- "Some stuff is obviously a lot more popular than other stuff" -- Tom Butcher Home Page, featuring Reagan on Black Velvet, the EMP Compilation CD, samples of my music, etc http://soli.inav.net/~kent/ Kent Williams kent@inav.net CADSI 2651 Crosspark Road Coralville IA 52241 (319) 338 6053 (home) (319) 626 6700 x 219 (work) (319) 626 3489 (fax)

Got a promo of the new Labradford album. Only listened to it once, so I can't offer much analysis beyond "it's good, I like it". However, I just HAD to mention the brilliant track titles... 1. Recorded and mixed at Sound of Music, Richmond, Va. 2. with John Morand and assisted by Brian Hoffa. 3. Dulcimers played by Peter Neff, Strings played 4. by Chris Johnston, Craig Markva, Jamie Evans, 5. and Jonathan Morken. Photo provided by 6. Leta O'Steen. Design assistance by John Piper :) Greg

Labradford: great band. E Luxo So came out earlier this year on Kranky/Blast First. I suggest you also try to get hold of Mi Media Naranja. I don't think it actually has any kind of tracklisting though. Same as Mi Media. Arab Strap are another good (Scottish) band. Elephant Shoe came out really recently but i don't know the tracklisting for it. -----Original Message----- From: Irene McC <substar@iafrica.com> To: idm@hyperreal.org <idm@hyperreal.org> Date: Friday, October 29, 1999 8:00 AM Subject: (idm) can anybody help out? A friend's friend has just come back from 3 months travelling and has decided to lend me a box of 10 CD-R's he acquired along the way. There's some interesting and lovely stuff, but unfortunately he's not as fussed about detail as some of us, and apart from the artist name and title, there's absolutely no information. So, I'd really appreciate if anybody could help out with tracklistings, date of release and other relevant info regarding any of the following: BRAKEBACK - Field recordings from the cook county water tables DISCO INFERNO - In debt ARAB STRAP - Elephant Shoe LaBRADFORD - E Luxo So ROTHKO - A negative for Francis POLE - #2 MANY thanks go out in advance. I'm pretty sure there are tracklistings for both. Mi Media Naranja: there are letters to signify each track. E Luxo So: the production credits are the tracklisting See: http://brainwashed.com/labradford/ Hess --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

:-) Yes, quite. I've got Mi Media, so receiving the 'tracklisting' for E Luxo So wasn't a massive surprise. Interesting, though.
