...or the fact that sometimes when you're alone all those abstract electronic soundscapes are abandoned for old Rush records.... ;-) ok so hands up all those closet rush fans on the list - i've got Grace Under Pressure in the car at the moment :-) along with some more respectable idm like records.. I've seen Larry Heard give props to Rush in interviews before now though.. so there is some kind of relation to idm

Rush.... Well I am Canadian and all so of course I've seen them live no less than 5 times..... I've seen Trans Am and Badmarsh/Shri big up Rush. Geddy Lee big up'ed us (Ninja Tune) in the last issue of Pop Smear...that was pretty cool. ZZ Top came by our office once...that was weird. I went and saw Slayer awhile ago and ran into a lot of people I knew trying to hide the fact they were there...that was funny. Oh ya... buy the 2 6LP Fela Kuti boxsets...they're wicked and full of impossible to find records. buy the 3 Mutantes CDs that were just reissued. Brazilian psych-pop and some bad ass stage outfits. We've been listening to them religiously everyday at the office. I'm rambling Bye Jeff

Duuuudesssss, (In full-on 70's-80's stoner-rock voice) Rush was the shit back in the day, I don't care what anyone says. First time I saw them was on the Hemispheres tour (oh, god...i am dating myself now) and Geddy had that huge bank of (now coveted) Arp's, Moogs, and Prophets onstage...I always thought it was soooo cool that he could sing, play bass and keyboard lines, as well as working those Taurus pedals with his feet. I recall a recent conversation with Mad Mike where we loosely discussed the influence of Rush on UR... paw pecomm nyc In a message dated 4/28/99 8:48:53 PM, ninjeff@generation.net writes: <<Rush.... The fact that this topic came up is odd enough, but the fact that Jeff commented on it is downright bizarre. Not two days ago I was bumping 'Music 4 No Musicians' in my car, and I started thinking about the result of a Rush/Coldcut collaboration. You people scare me. stop it. clockwise np: Final '2'

Sorry to scare ya Clockwise! I still have that Rush tape in my tape deck just staring at me(saying remember the days Hackett, remember). Still, that John Beltran takes precedent though! Nonetheless, as an African American, even I must admit that Getty and the boys are unique! Unlike many rock and roll bands, actually Rush has rhythm----and being high on melodies---their meolodies always grabbed me, whether I with the Brothers in the hood, or with some woman----if Rush came on------it was played! Subdivisions, Subdivisions---OUCH! Hk-90!~
