The Chicago-based Kultbox label just released our 4th record
buy the amsterdam producer Rude 66. This four track ep is
touted at a nice foray in to hardcore drum n bass. Upcoming
projects for Kultbox include releases from david skiba (aka
bomb20), lesser, kid606, and a 7" series of manipulated
shortwave radio recordings. So some interesting experimental
things coming out of chi-town soon.

Disko B's new subdivision THE SEPERATOR SERIES has
been unleashed early this year with CUBE & SPHERE's
Amundsen 12''. Showing Disko B-Boss' UPSTART and
HANS PLATZGUMER's (Aura Anthropica, Fingerfood, Die
Goldenen Zitronen, Der Seperator) love for abstract and
innovative electronica, THE SEPERATOR SERIES-releases
will expand the musical terrain for which Disko B is known for:
experimental, cutting-edge-music on the verge of Breakbeat and
Ambient, Pop and Soundtrack. The unique sleeves, videoclips
and video installations of the SEPERATOR SERIES, designed
by Munich-based artist GEORG GAIGL, clearly show the dark
and mysterious atmospheres of its outputs. While the first EPs
are focusing on modern digital technologies, THE SEPERATOR
SERIES will not hesitate to also release analog music later this
year (like an unbelievable live track merely done with sticks on a
bowl by Berlin's free jazz-legend Peter Hollinger). Thus the
SEPERATOR-family around HANS PLATZGUMER is about
to grow. So far, involved in the quite anonymously kept titles of
SEPERATOR-releases, we find: Hans Platzgumer, Gerhard
Potuznik, CaMi Tokujiro, Da Pöschl, Hecker and Peter Hollinger,
soon to be added: Great Dutch and Norwegian Explorers. Under the
SEPERATOR surname different line-ups are also doing various kinds
of live-performances.
separator releases:
SEPERATOR 1: Cube & Sphere - Amundsen (january)
SEPERATOR 2: Shinto - Ai To Kakumei (april)
SEPERATOR 3: Seperator - Stamp EP (may)
Shinto-CD/LP, Seperator-CDR/LP
