Natalie Cole's version of the song on her Unforgettable CD sounds remarkably similar to the sample on the 2AD track. Anyone else notice this?

I've not heard the track, but it's a very common practice for artists to build a track around a sample, but when it turns out to be un-clearable or too expensive, they just re-record the loop. Somewhere at home I have a DAT bootlegged from a Seattle studio that's chock full of loops that were recorded from scratch, and then treated so that they sound as though they were nicked from old records. The story that came with the tape was that a record label, having been burned by sample clearance, commissioned the loops as legally un-entabled fodder for their producers. kent williams -- kent@avalon.net Now Playing: Kasugai Hot Roated Peas crunching in my mouth. This song isn't sampled as such. Its a cover. There are two versions on Philosophy. The original is a fairly straight version of the song with the same singer as the rest of the album. Morris's remix is sampled from that version. If I had the vinyl with me I'd confirm that, but I'm pretty sure this is the case.
