I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on the release by Isan - Beautronics? I read somewhere that it was like a combination of Boards of Canada and Phoenecia. I have no idea if this was an accurate assesment. Also, I've spotted some discs on the sigma (or was it sian?) label, sigma 1 and 2. Anonymous white sleeves with absolutely no information on them. What are they like?

sigma editions, australian label run by rosy parlane and dion workman (ex-drone rockers with thela, now in parmentier). i've only heard the parlane disk in passing, so i can't comment; the parmentier disc ("luxsound") has bits of pole, oval, sahko, etc. very stark, lots of clicking and droning, minimal. i like it a lot (especially track 5), but it could easily get on your nerves if you need the constant stimulation provided by the the wAennabes out there. parmentier also released a double 8" (ltd ed 100, i think) on crawlspace records when they were still living in new zealand. big up the lathe cut mafia, son. also helpful would be searching on the label "sigma editions" at www.forcedexposure.com. pretty good, descriptive reviews there. grip the love spigot, [gr] ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
