THERE IS NO IDM CONTENT IN THIS REPLY. okay. i feel the need to join in with my fellow american geeks here. this is as close to pride you will ever see me having in my country :) first, i do not know *much* by/about can.. in fact, my exposure to can came through working at KUCI and having folks say, "hey chris, if you like nurse with wound, you might like can and faust". that, and the jesus and mary chain covered them :) (not too bad of a cover either, really). anyway, i *really* like a lot of early psychadelic rock stuff (or whatever label needs to be attached to it) -- especially early pink floyd and neu.. and can, from what i have heard, definitly has their part in all that. so, anyway. last night i was pretty excited about seeing folks perform from can. especially attached to the lineup. anyway, some folks i was with got discouraged over the guitars and drum kit (im personally pretty burned on the sound of drum kits, though i love live percussion) and left early. at that point i wasnt in much of a mood to be inside anymore, but really wnated to hear at least part of the performance. so i gave it a chance, and really, though i didnt love it or hate it, i found it very upsetting that it really caused no reaction in me. i think honestly, if anything, i felt like i was suffering the severe effects of generation gap. and really, im sure i was. as you'll most likely label me as an ignorant fuck, like you did with brock, and indirectly with greg. and i *love* improv stuff, just so you know. i just found the whole thing rather bland.. but that could have been my mood as well. have you seen the show yet? im curious about other opinions.

Yo' I'm closer to D-land than you and I can certainly talk shit on them for fucking up my road and freeways and making me late to work every fucking day.....
