Speaking of Cex and Marumari (they seem like
really good friends), Marumari's new (and upcoming)
"The Wolves Hollow" is more than i expected after
hearing the experimentally constructed "Ballad of the
Round Ball" (also on Carpark). "The Wolves Hollow" is
definitely more accessible to the ears, while plucking
at those digital melodies, Marumari constructs a vivid
platform of soothing soundwaves with several consistent
beats (in a techno'ish vein), but veering on their own
unique and abstract way. Also very experimental and
much more fluid/poppy/crunchy steering in a direction
that i think will be well received in the idm/ambient/313/
minimal areas. So far, after only a few spins, this one
doesn't fit one particular genre, and it should remain that
way.
..Another fine release on Carpark Records. I think Andrew
Duke (Cognition) has this one up on his site, if not, then
check out Kid606's new "The Soccergirl EP" which sees
Michael exercising his ambient electronic qualities at full-
throttle (also upcoming).
More on these two as time permits, but i'm sure you'll
be hearing more as these see official release.. ; )
