I think most of the time, in reference to whats better, a true synth or soft synths, its all personal preference. But then again i think most "synths" out there are only ROMplers, and have nothing to do with actual synthesis,..i have some soft synths like "VAZ MOdular" that i toy with but i dont use it for music at all, because i find my "real synths" are just easier for me personally to fuck with. Then again, maybe its because i have been making music for too long, and why would i sell my Moogs to go buy a software synth and have to learn it all over again? I know how to use my Moog, my NOrd 2 , my JUno,...etc...i wouldnt sell them for any software. Also i have found that softsynths IMHO, do not sound as good as the real deal,..when BigBriar puts out a Moog Soft synth, maybe i will check it out,..but Rebirth and etc...i have found dont keep up with my knobwhore synths i am so proud to own... ...as for the computer being a musical instrument,..of course it is.thats like saying a sampler isnt a musical instrument, i have 3 samplers and use them to make music,...so they have become musical instruments regardless...is the turntable an instrument? sure. its all personal preference. everything can become an instrument. i sampled my toilet, did that become an instrument too? umm,...for instance, Rebirth, (to me) doesnt sound like a tb303, my Korg Prophecy on the otherhand has a few really impressing tb303 patches that i have let people here and they cant tell the difference. Who knows man, maybe its all nonesense.
