I seriously would like to know if the show was in fact "funky". Did they rock the house? I mean, did they actually tear it up? I somehow can't imagine Panasonic being funky. -CF

Hi, a while back (about year or os) Warp records released a mix tape called BLECH (cat WARP40). Now I haven't been able to get of the tape overhere, and at the site of Warp records there's no mention of this tape in their mail order dept. Does anyone have a copy still for sale or a copy they want to get rid off? Thx, in advance Met vriendelijke groeten, With kind regards, Bart De Maertelaere Webmaster United Callers

There's also a CD version available but that one's called Blech2 basically....and as I've heard it was a tape only release. Met vriendelijke groeten, With kind regards, Bart De Maertelaere Webmaster United Callers

As far as I know the warp release of the tape was very limited, maybe only a hundred copies, I'm not sure, but it was on the cover of Wax magazine early this year or late last year, that's how I got my copy. The sample from the film Dark Star of one of the ships crew teaching a bomb phenomenology over the top of B12's Soundtrack of Space is absolutely classic. I'm surprised I haven't worn that part of the tape out yet. :-) Steve.

All three versions of Blech - the commercial cassette, the commercial CD, and the promo cassette that came with Wax - differ from each other in one way or another. I only have the two commercial releases, and although I haven't given them a close comparison, I know there are differences. Greg

You're all right and you're all wrong. Allow me to attempt to clear up the confusion. There's a tape release of Blech that came out about two years ago (I think). It was a DJ mix by Strictly Kev and PC of Ninja Tune. A year later a sequel was released on CD called Blech 2 - Blechsdottir. I got a brief press release with it that hinted at a third release coming out possible in the next few months. It'll be a vinyl only release. While there are a few track similarities between the tape and CD release, the releases are totally separate. Aaron np: luke slater - freek funk (mute)

I'm not sure how the confusion came about either being that they have different titles from each other "blech" and "blechsdottir", meaning (I guess), Blech's daughter or "the sequel to blech"....so *of course* they have different track listings. But anyway, to clear up the Wax tape thing....I *think* that the one released on the cover of Wax may have nothing to do with Blech...I was under the impression it was a completely new mix done by PC and Strictly, either that or it's a small out-take of the original Blech, not the complete thing... So....Steve *still* has Blech to buy :) -- Ben Coffer Hybrid Productions http://www.hybridgame.demon.co.uk/

Well, the cassette (Blech) and the CD (Blechdottir) have a completely different track list but as far as I know there aren't any differences between the original release of Blech and the one that came on the cover of Wax. Though that relies on my memory of the track list of the original release of Blech, which one of my mates has got. The scumbag. :-) Steve.

I have six of the Blech (Warp40) tapes. I'd love to trade these for things you all have to trade. I'm looking for exotic vinyl and CDs, especially Scam stuff, but I'll entertain any ideas. Panasonic, Photek, Mille Plateau, Microstoria. Marginalia. It's a great tape (one copy of which I'll keep, of course), and my copies are brand new, though not wrapped. Also looking for certain Krautrock titles. Tape includes AFX, Autechre, Seefeel, Plaid, LFO, B 12, Richard Kirk, Polygon Window. 20 cuts in all. Japanese graphics, of course. Charlie James

Was it really necessary to put two seperate anvil vapre remixes on there, too? I mean, I like the song .. but I liked it a lot more before I heard the tape a few times. In fact, if my memory serves me correctly, there's three autechre tracks on there, while no other group has more than one, unless you count close up over and plaid as the same.. And another thing. My copy of the tape has a little pink sticker on the outside that says "track side 2: aphex twin "ventolin" (deep gong mix) taken from, etc, etc" However, that track isn't even on the tape. What a confusing situation. noah np: heart: balil
