Hi all, this is my first post to the IDM list.
I went and saw my first 'real' DJ on Friday. It was Richie Hawtin, and it
was good. However, I didn't take ear plugs -- I didn't think it be _that_
loud. I ended up stuffing my ears with kleenex. Now, I've had a ringing
in my one ear the past few days. I saw a nurse yesterday who told me it
should go away soon, and I'm seeing a doctor about it today. Hopefully,
everything will be okay.
With all the talk about tinnitus the other week on IDM, and reading about
it, I implore everyone to take ear plugs with them to _any_ concert they
go to. I wish that I had taken the minute amount of time it would have
taken to equip myself with them. I've hardly been able to sleep the past
few days either (which isn't 100% due to the ringing - mostly worrying
that it will never stop and noisy roommates who woke me up on the weekend,
thus not allowing me to recuperate), which can't help much.
Anyways, I've usually always used ear plugs at rock concerts, and for
those of you who've never used them, they really don't take away from
anything at all - they just lower the decibels so you can enjoy the music
instead.
Take care,
PLUR,
