Amen. The levis story actually gave me a stomach ache. So, when you get down to it, let's not climb all over Bjork, you either love her or hate here. Whatevah. At least she is promoting the artists and paying them rather than exploiting their music for naught. The point being that a lot of djs and artists are being raked over the coals by "edgy" ad agencies that want to push the envelope of lifestyle culture to peddle their shit. So they go for the artists that are producing outside tracks for a typically smaller audience, steal their music, lie about it and then refuse to pay them. The agencies don't give a flying fuck. Take my word for it, I've worked with many of the larger ones. They'll get away with whatever they can to sell their dross, make their cut and win their Cleos. I can't count how many times I've heard original tracks ripped off for TV spots, all the way back to a Cocteau Twins song on a Stetson cologne commercial. Levis makes me sick. Oh yeah, and to the SanFran ad agency, fuck you for not only ripping off a musical culture, but also trivializing it and slapping it on like a sticker to sell your torpid product. But, I guess this will always happen. Sorry, folks, Monday morning . . . Marie on now: beanfield: self-titled
