A-hem. Björk: 2 producers + herself, a couple of "collaborators", yes, but it's not like thay aren't credited. However, the wonderful things about Björk isn't first of all the production and/or the mixing whatever. I understand that you dig Cylob n' the Rephlex posse far more than this (it's the nipples you want innit? ;) but don't be so fucking naive to believe that there's Howie B or Mark Bell or friggin Plaid that's doing the work here. Don't even TRY and convince me that because Björk has a zillion dollars she can't do anything interesting or that because Cylob DOESN'T he can't. It's not about that and I though we had learned that by now. I was wrong again. It's not really usual that artists with "a zillion dollars" doing this kinda stuff, and that's why I think Björk is so very brave. (you probably haven't even heard the album we're talking about here. Am I wrong?) That was the only thing I wanted to stress. It IS however VERY USUAL for "underground" artist like Cylob or whomever to do so. I like Cylob but...
quoted 1 line You tell me who deserves more respect.>You tell me who deserves more respect.
...if you ask me Björk is the one because she dares. Cylob doesn't really. However, it isn't up to me do decide. Most of the people on this list would probably trade all their Björk's for one shitty little Industrial Folk Songs 12", so that isn't really relevant. And please... don't be so fucking picky. ?? Anyway, I'm glad you mentioned him, because he is THE PERFECT PROOF of the fact that this is not about money. I can't really imagine him being richer than Cylob (us who've been on this list a while knows...) but he is still doing some of the most brilliant music around. All the Cylob albums in the world weren't anything against MFA or Spanners.

It's not about "Underground" and "Mainstream" here. Listen to the music, I was talking about Cylob etc. I mean I like his work but I don't consider it to be anything else but a pale copy of mr. Richard James', it doesn't really matters how much money involved. It's proven that you don't have to have a lot of dough to create good mucis, IT IS ALSO PROVEN that because you have, you tend to make lousy music because you go with the flow at the top of the popworld. BUT BJÖRK DOESNT.

You're too much. It's not about good poptunes. It's about as comparable to spice girls as Coldcut is to King Diamond. That's where the magic lies - A POPSTAR NOT DOING POPTUNES but cutting edge stuff that I though was interesting to this list, I thought that I told you that already.

Hmm... There are 2 of us. We're not the same, and I think you have to ask Erik of his opinion before stuffing us in the same bin. brachielles@juno.com wrote:

Didn't mean to, but the reaction I was awaiting was an attack that had to do with this record not being underground enough, if you know what I mean. It's known to happen, and I just wanted to try and prevent that. When I listen to this Björk album, nothing else really matters. When I listen to my average whatever all I hear is fuckin great music. I dunno where the difference lies, really.... Anyway, I didn't mean to start a Cylob vs. Björk debate here (sounds stupid innit?) and I guess I should've picked my words more carefully when I wrote that piece, any insults created, I'm sorry. Bottomline: Go get Homogenic(even you Fresh you'll dig it).
