Hi, If anyone's interested, I'm selling my Roland TR-808 drum machine. I'm selling it with a MIDI to DIN sync convertor so that you can sync it up to your MIDI sequencer. It's in full working order, and I'd like 300 ponds sterling for it. If you're interested, mail me ASAP. Sorry for the hideous cross-post, but I haven't bothered to subsribe to any of the analogue lists. Cheers, Rich. PS- Thanks to everyone who sent me all their neotropic and Amon Tobin reviews- I can see that Riz's work has been generally extremely well received as has Amon Tobin's. I see that I'll have to get Amon's album. Could this year be Amon's year?

but since the Rav-o-lution 309 came out, prices on the MC303 have dropped like crazy around here. I know it isn't the amount that you're looking for, but the other folks were saying this one isn't even worth $100 US...so I'll just throw an offer of $125US out there. And if you can't sell it to anyone else, give me a ring. Thanks. At 12:22 PM 8/18/97 +0100, R D Wigglesworth wrote:

God, who are these 'other folks' and what capsule did they crawl out of? The going rate here in the US for an 808 is $400 (if you're lucky) to $600 depending on its condition. Yeah, Rebirth is fun to play around with but I've yet to hear any raves about it's use a drum machine. And as for the Mc303... weren't they giving those away with Happy Meals? -Christina NP - 'Hypnotic 808' Dynamix II On Mon, 18 Aug 1997, Tim Gill wrote:

hey, doesn't a software company... Steinburg(sp?) have a $199.00 program where you get 2 x 303's and an 808 directly on your computer??? I heard a tape of some kids (14 years old) at a local record shop, they said they did it in one night, and it sounded very impressive. I wondered what 2 nights would have sounded like. That would be the ReBirth RB-338 from Propellerhead Software. I've played around with their demo version, pretty damn cool! _________________________________________________ darrel best - http://www.compusmart.ab.ca/daz/ mailto:daz@compusmart.ab.ca

808's have been going around the 3-4 bill mark around here (300-400). As far as the MC303 is concerned. . the machines are not even comparable. It seems that the machine to have nowadays is a Roland 909. Those have been selling as high as $1200-$1400 if your lucky enough to find someone selling it. JEFF who sold his Prophecy and bought a Roland JP-8000 (well didnt really sell it but it sounded a bit better than lending it to a friend for her shows :) ) my $0.03 (godamn inflation has hit everything now a days) NP - Fad Gadget - "Gag" TinOmen Tyranny4You@earthlink.net http://www.thefaktory.com ". . .And they all died in a horrible fiery death, mangled steel, blood, ear piercing screams...all to the technoized beat put forth by a TR-909" -TinOmen-

I'm so glad people just keep on bagging on the mc303! It makes me feel even better about it then I already do (which is pretty fucking good!). I've got a studio full of gear at my disposal, but I have the mc303 on my couch at home. Turn the fucker on and jam, jam, jam! In 10 minutes I can have a quite 'autechre' sounding track built, using the sounds everyone else bitches about in ways most people never thought of. Any piece of gear is only as good as the person using it. So the moral of the story is never slag another man's gear... peace out, brock out. np: V/A - 'Wild at Heart' soundtrack

An 808 can't be replaced by a software emulator. ReBirth is fun, not more. An 808 can't be replaced by a MC-303 or has anyone out there a MC-303 with 11 single outs? I'm not an analogue fascist or anything - of course $ 700 is way too much for an 808. If I had to decide wether to sell my 808 or my 909, I wouldn't hesitate to sell the 909. Get your hands on an 808 and we talk later Thaddi Tim Gill wrote:
